Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Recognize unhelpful patterns of thinking and develop more balanced perspectives and constructive responses.
Meaningful change begins with a trusting relationship, a willingness to understand our experiences, and practical strategies that fit our lives. My approach brings together clinical psychology, positive psychology, and an appreciation for the connection between mind and body.
I believe the relationship between therapist and client is central to meaningful progress. My first priority is creating an environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing what matters to you.
Acceptance is an important starting point. By understanding where we are, without unnecessary judgment, we can begin to make intentional choices about where we want to go. Our work is collaborative, shaped by your goals, experiences, and strengths.
Different challenges call for different approaches. Together, we'll select and practice evidence-informed strategies that fit your needs.
Recognize unhelpful patterns of thinking and develop more balanced perspectives and constructive responses.
Practice present-moment awareness and respond more intentionally to thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Use practical breathing strategies to regulate physiological arousal and find steadiness during difficult moments.
Notice and release tension while exploring how shifting attention can change our awareness of physical sensations, including discomfort.
Identify strengths, cultivate gratitude, value relationships, and build meaning and engagement in daily life.
Translate insights into manageable actions and routines that support change beyond the therapy session.
Our thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviors influence one another. My background in physical therapy and athletic training helps me appreciate this relationship, especially when clients are navigating pain, recovery, stress, or performance pressure.
In psychotherapy, we can explore these connections without treating physical symptoms as imaginary or suggesting that every sensation is within our control.
We'll practice approaches you can use in real situations, reflect on what helps, and adapt them as you grow.
The goal is not perfection. It's greater awareness, flexibility, and confidence in navigating future challenges.
If this approach resonates with you, I welcome the opportunity to discuss your goals and whether psychotherapy at Kinnected Therapies may be a good fit.
